With the demand of energy saving and the requirement for higher lighting quality, semiconductor lighting sources have been concerned for its excellent characteristics: high efficient and energy saving, long life, rich colors and environmental protection etc. This paper mainly discuss on the design of LED's application in biomedical engineering.Recently, LED lighting source technology has a rapid development in the medical field. According to the characteristic of the application of the LED, we analyse it in three aspects: medical illumination, medical diagnose and LED lighting treatment.Based the software and lighting algorithm, simulation to the design of LED illumination are pre-estimated, it can judge whether the optical characteristics suit the illumination standards or not before the illumination device are produced, so on the one hand, it cuts down the manpower and material resources, on the other hand, it not only reduces the period of design and manufacture but also enhances the economic benefits.First, LED lighting and LED lighting driver circuit are discussed, the detaiLED introduction to LED light source used in lighting is given. The related calculation methods are summed, especially calculation method of illumination and luminous flux are summed and programmed. Illumination formula of two LED light sources in the plane is derived according to the principle of superposition and calculation method of LED arrays illumination is derived too. From the above we get illumination simulation of LED common arrays and analyze them.Based on the research of different half power angles LED and the different power LED, the LED special arrays are researched, the LED special arrays mainly distributes in the surface of rectangular, inside and outside the semi-cylinder. We get their illumination simulation , analyze the LED arrays, obtains the distributed characteristics of the different arrays, and finds the law of arrays suiting lamps.Finally, we practically design an intelligent LED drive system, and we put forward two application: the LED shadowless lamp and the intelligent LED icterus curer. The correlative analysis can provides accurate reference for designing LED intelligent devices in thebiomedical engineering.
