Influence On CSF TNF And IL-2 Level With Direct Moxibustion On SiHua In Chemotherapy Patients With Lung Cancer

Research Objective:A prospective randomized study on the clinical effects of direct moxibustion on SiHua in chemotherapy patients with lung cancer. To explore the influence on CSF, TNF and IL-2 level with direct moxibustion on SiHua in chemotherapy patients with lung cancer; trying to find effective treatments with fewer adverse effects of chemotherapy for lung cancer and more improvement of the life quality and physical condition in lung cancer patients treated with chemotherapy; Establishing a group of effective acupoints to reduce adverse effects of chemotherapy, and to explore the possible mechanisms of reducing adverse effects and improving the efficacy of chemotherapy in Lung cancer patients.Research Methods:60 eligible lung cancer patients with chemotherapy were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group.We treated the control group with simple chemotherapy, and the treatment group with chemotherapy plus direct moxibustion on SiHua. The chemotherapy included the combination chemotherapy with Paclitaxel and Cisplatin or Gemcitabine plus Cisplatin, with the conventional medicine for preventing adverse effects of chemotherapy. A week made a course. As for the direct moxibustion on SiHua, a thin layer of Diedawanhua oil was applied on the bilateral GeShu and DanShu points. And the moxa was made into moxa cones sized 0.5×0.8cm, then we put them on the points and made them burned. Moxa cones were removed when they were with about one third height or when the patients felt scorching hot. Then another moca cone was put on the same point, with three cones in all for moe point. The course contains one treatment a day for 7 days. Before and after the treatment, the CSF level, TNF level, IL-2 level, anti-cancer drug toxicity assessment classification level, life quality and Karnofasky score were separately evaluated as efficacy indicator with one week observation period. All the data were collected into a database and were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 statistical software.Results:Before the treatment, there were no significant differences in the CSF level, TNF level, IL-2 level, anti-cancer drug toxicity assessment classification level, life quality and Karnofasky score between the two groups(P>0.05). After the treatment, the CSF level of treatment group increased (P<0.01), and the TNF level of treatment group reduced (P <0.05). There was no significant change in the CSF level and TNF level in control group before and after treatment (P> 0.05). After the treatment, the CSF level of treatment group increased compared with the control group (P<0.01); The TNF level of treatment group reduced comparing the two groups after treatment(P> 0.05).The IL-2 level increased in both groups after treatment(P<0.01),while compared with the control group, the IL-2 level of treatment group increased with a significant difference(P<0.05); After treatment, life quality and Karnofsky score of two groups decreased (P<0.01),but life quality and Karnofsky score were superior to those in control group (P<0.01); After treatment, anti-cancer drug toxicity assessment classification level increased in two groups(P<0.05, P <0.01), but it was relatively mild in treatment group (P<0.05); The damage to the blood system and the gastrointestinal discomforts of chemotherapy in treatment group reduced (P <0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:Combined chemotherapy of direct moxibustion on SiHua can obviously increase the CSF and IL-2 level of Lung cancer patients; while decrease the TNF level; It can reduce anti-cancer drug toxicity assessment classification level compared with simple chemotherapy; And it can improve life quality and Karnofsky score,reduce blood system damage and gastrointestinal discomfort caused by chemotherapy. Direct moxibustion on SiHua can improve immune function to some extent in patients with chemotherapy, reduce the adverse effects and improve the efficacy of chemotherapy.
