Effect Of Yunnan Baiyao On Healthy Rats, Unilateral Nephrectomized Rats And Exposed Rats' Coagulation System By Intragastric Administration

Objiective Yunnan baiyao is always used to hemostasis. It works so perfectly that we use it in medicine, surgery, gynaecology, department of dermatology, tumour and other fields for Surgical Treatment. Preliminary Study of Yunnan baiyao suggests that, Yunnan baiyao could shorten bleeding time and clotting time by acting on platelets. But how it works on blood coagulation system, There has not received the report. So, we probe into the effect of Yunnan baiyao on the blood coagulation system of healthy organism. Besides, in consideratin of Yunnan baiyao'efficiency, conbined with acute radiation injury,we also grope for it's function on remedy of radiation damage.Method Thrombelastogram(TEG) is is widely used in diagnose and reserch on blood coagulation system. Activity of intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation and extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation could be evaluated by the activated partial thromboplasin time (APTT), thromboplasin time (TT), prothrombin time (PT) and fibringen level (Fib). This reasearch reflects Yunnan baiyao's effect on blood coagulation system. In view of clinical practice , we setup four different dosages , and medicate by lavage.Results Yunnan baiyao could increase the fibrinogen (Fib) level of rats, and delay the formation of blood clot. Yunnan baiyao by lavage could increase the level of fibrinogen (Fib), and shorten Actiated Partial Thromboplasting Time(APTT), reaction time (R value),and coagulation time (K value). In irradiated rats,Yunnan baiyao could shorten coagulation time (K value),reaction time (R value) plus coagulation time (K value).and enhance the maximum thrombus consistency (Ma value) and the level of fibrinogen (Fib).Conclusion Yunnan baiyao by lavage may works by shorten the formation time of thrombin. Yunnan baiyao exerts notablely on rats undergoing nephrectomy. But it is'nt so clearly on exposed rats.
