Mental illness is a chronic persistent and recurrent disease which is easy to relapse and has brought heavy burden to families, individual patients and society. There are many studies on the factors of patients'onset and relapse before. In this paper, we investigate the psychiatric symptoms of inpatients who in psychiatric hospitals, find the pathogenesis of mental illness and the recurrence of these factors, which includes family relations factors (harmony or not), marriage quality, family history or the quality of genetic factors, family income factors (medicine shopping ability), inducement or not, forms (acute, disease chronic or suddenly, slow onset) and the demographic factors (age, gender, etc.). This study selected patients with mental illness hospitalized in third grade class psychiatric hospital between Dec 1,2009-Dec.30,2009. The results showed that (1) the female patients with mental illness, usually have the diagnosis of score higher on the scale, especially in the aspects of the negative symptoms, General symptoms and vitality symptoms; (2) Marital status has impact on their symptoms., married individuals have lower scores in various symptoms. The divorcement has positive effect on mental illness; (3) General symptoms of mental illness and social function may be related to family history of genetic effects. mental illness symptoms is obvious in patients with no job relative to individuals with part time work; (4) The worse a family income have, the worse social function patients with mental illness showed, and depression have negative association with family incomes; (5) A lot of mental illness was affected by drugs buying ability; The results showed that negative symptoms, lack of response and reaction are influence by the factors such as Recurrence or not. (6) Positive symptoms, thinking obstacles, paranoid reaction and depressive symptoms are influenced by the conditions that whether patients in hospitalization or not. Hospitalization had positive effect on positive and negative symptoms, lack of response in critical significant conditions. The symptoms of paranoid reaction and positive reaction are affected in significant level by hospitalization; (7) Thinking obstacles, activity obstacles and social function was affected by form of mental health; (8) Living conditions and education situation are no significant effect on any symptoms of mental illness; (9) The results show that prime young period, relative to the middle period and adolescence, some symptoms is obvious.
