Doctor-Patient Conflict In Social Transformation

Based on the method of field investigation, this paper analyzed the factors in the process of doctor-patient conflict which included communication and diagnosis, settling the disputes, conflict-prevention by social workers and the role of media. And the factors included the reform of medical institutions marketization, changes of doctor's professional reputation and the plight of patient rights expression. Therefore, in the process of marketization, a country needs to fully guarantee the benefit of hospitals, doctors and patients while reducing the pressure itself.Doctor-patient conflict mainly occurs in communication, medical treatment and dispute resolution. The characteristics of communication are information isolation and limitation of time. Patients'participation boundaries and the debate of doctors'service range were two issues in the process of medical treatment. In the process of resolving dispute, the functional departments always protect hospital interests, and existing regulations need to be perfected, meanwhile, some media's exaggeration of facts and the'stigmatization'of doctors also further deepened the doctor-patient conflict.The reasons of doctor-patient conflict included the reform of medical institutions marketization, changes of doctor's professional reputation and the plight of patient rights expression. Hospitals can not be an independent trading individual, doctors make covert income using information isolation, and patients lack effective way to express their benefit. These result the occurring of doctor-patient conflict production.Doctor-patient conflict is showing a distinct characteristic of social transformation. The country's eager to fall burden causes the transformation of the role of hospitals and doctors, and the patients suffer the deepest loss.
