The upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage causing by Cirrhosis is a common diseases of digestive system in China and Southeast Asia. In Europe and the United States, the Alcoholic cirrhosis is mostly caused by long-term alcohol abuse, the incidence of which is about 5 to 10 times of China and Southeast Asia. The standardized mortality rate was about 4.52/10 million among men, and the standardized mortality rate of approximately 5.61/10 million among women. According to incomplete statistics, the Cirrhotic in our country are usually caused by patients'viral hepatitis, of which the Incidence is about approximately 43% of the total number of the world's cirrhosis, And each year about 130,000 cases of patients died of the disease which accounts 40% of the global cirrhosis deaths. And with the spread of hepatitis B and hepatitis C virus, incidence rate has increased annually, and the incidence age becomes younger and younger. Methods: In this study, from March 2008 to March 2010, the39 cases of cirrhosis of the liver caused by the upper gastrointestinal bleeding were retrospectively analyzed and divided into 2 groups. Group A, 9 patients, received TIPS treatment alone; Group B, 30 patients, received PIVE+PSE treatment; The healing efficacy were determined by comparing color Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy and imaging examination, the extent of varicose veins, the changes in portal pressure, and splenic function and the recurrence rate of gastrointestinal bleeding before and after operation respectively which provided guidance for clinical treatment. Results: Two treatment programs can effectively reduce portal pressure, , and there's statistical significance between the groups. For reduce portal pressure after operation, control the upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by liver cirrhosis and reduce the recurrence rate of bleeding , group A was better than group B(p<0.05) , group B was fit for controlling bleeding in emergency treatment and when there is no way to finish TIPS,we could use it. So PTVE is not norms way to treat bleeding. Conclusion: the interventional therapy of this study has positive clinical effect, for patients with different status of physical function, choose the appropriate surgical operation.
