A Research On Facing Adverse Reaction Of Traditional Chinese Medicine And Improving The Monitoring System

As a commodity, drug is special, because it directly relates to the health and safety of lives of public. The event of a severe adverse reaction of the drug on saling can lead to serious consequences. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a special one in drugs, which is following the theory of traditional Chinese medical science. TCM derived from plants, animals, and minerals. As the use of TCM around the world becoming widely and the formulation getting multiple, reports of adverse caused by TCM is in the trend of increasing. Severe adverse reactions of TCM happened in recent years, have attracted more attention of government, drug company and publics.This paper described what adverse reaction caused by TCM really is and the type of it firstly, and then analyzed how it does happen. We have summarized some factors which lead to adverse reactions, and some suggestions to reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, such as improve the quality of TCM, use rationally, strengthen the research, especially improving the monitoring system of adverse of TCM etc.
