Objective:To explore the effect of laminaria japonica polysaccharides (LJP) on the apoptosis and Bcl-2/Bax expression of submandibular gland cells (SGC) in rats with the damage induced by radiated. Method :Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups ,the normal group(N),the radiated group(R) and two LJP treatment groups,30mg/kg/d(LR30) and 300mg/kg(LR300) .Each rat of R,LR30 ,LR300 group was given a single dose ofγ-rays of 15Gy irradiation on the area of rat submandibular gland. The expression of Bcl-2/Bax,as well as the apoptosis of SGC were measured after 3 days.Result:The Bcl-2 expression in the LR30 and LR300 group was significantly higher than the R group (p<0.05),the apoptosis of SGC in the LR30 and LR300 group was significantly lower than the R group (p<0.05),but there was no obviously change neither between R group and LR30 group nor between R group and LR300 group in the expression of Bax.Conclusion:LJP have some protective effects on submandibular gland in rats in the radiated damage by regulating the expression of the Bcl-2/Bax.
