Objective Explore the value of the 64-slice computed tomography on detecting the thrombus in the left-atrial appendage. Methods We performed both the 64-slice computed tomography(64SCT) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in 90 patients with artial filbrillation during the once period. And we comparise of the two detection methods. Results Among the results, 12 patients were diagnosed having thrombi in LA/LAA by 64SCT (2 cases accorded with TEE). Diagnose accordance rate was 85.6%(77/90) between 64SCT with TEE. In comparison with TEE as golden standard, 64SCT had the sensitivity, spencificity, positive predictive value and nagetive predictive value were 40.0%, 88.2%, 16.7% and 3.8%. 64 -slice computed tomography and transesophageal echocardiography has no statistically significant differences. Conclusions 64 -slice computed tomography has a highly corresponding with transesophageal echocardiography of detecting the thrombus in the left-atrial appendage.
