Clinical Research Of Intergrating Electrical Acupuncture Therapy And Tuina In The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis

BackgroundAs aging society coming, incidence rate of OA has gradually increased, and more damaged. An internal statistics shows that the patients of OA account for 3% of China's total population, most of them are the patients with KOA. The disease rate of the age of 55 or more is 60%, and 85% for the age of 65 or more. While China is going into an aging population, the rate of KOA is ascending. That is very danger.ObjectivesAccording to the treatment guidelines of the combination of Internal and External, the combination of global and local, we choose the method of Intergrating electrical acupuncture therapy and tuina to treat the patients with KOA, which that could tread the disease from the fundamental in the biomechanical and physiological metabolism ways. According to WOMAC score table, we forecast the prognosis from the effects Observation and comparison of the results before and after the evaluation of treatment, and try to find a straightforward, effective, safe and economical method of treatment of KOA.MethodsThe patients were randomly divided into four groups:the experimental group, the electrical acupuncture therapy group, the tuina group and the drug group. After a course of treatment, we will observe the comparison of the results before and after treatment by WOMAC score and the RIS. ResultAfter 4 weeks of treatment, by the paired t test, the WOMAC scores of after treatment and before the treatment among the 4 groups were significantly different, P<0.01, indicating that all 4 treatment markedly. And by the t test, the comparison of the RIS among the 4 groups:the experimental group and the electrical acupuncture therapy group, the experimental group and the drug group, the electrical acupuncture therapy group and the drug group, the tuina group and the drug group P<0.01, significant difference; the experimental group and tuina group P<0.05, significant difference; tuina group and the electrical acupuncture therapy group, P>0.05, no significant difference, indicating that efficacy of Intergrating electrical acupuncture therapy and tuina for KOA is significantly better than the efficacy of Glucosamine Sulfate Tablets.ConclusionThe treatment of Intergrating electrical acupuncture therapy and tuina can significantly improves the KOA patients' pain, swelling, joint dysfunction and other symptoms. And it is better than other three treatments. Acupuncture and Naprapathy are adverse reactions, and easy promotion.
