Objectives:To explore the Curative effects of open reduction and internal fixation with Kirschner's Nails Cable or Kirschner's Nails tension band wire for patellar transverse fractures patellar. Methods:Totally 66 cases, who were in Traumatic orthopedic of the first hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM from 2008-7 to 2011-5. The group A 35 cases were enrolled in the Kirschner's Nails Cable; The group B 31 cases were enrolled the Kirschner's tension band wire. All the patients use the antibiotics, trained by CPM, and treatment by TCM. The trained time, the walk time, the knee bend for 90°time, the knee bend for 120°time, the knee x-ray, and the complication between the 2 groups were compared.Result:Obvious superiority was observed in the Kirschner's Nails Cable group over the Kirschner's Nails tension band wire group concerning The trained time, the walk time, the knee bend for 90°time, the knee bend for 120°time, the knee x-ray, and the complication (P<0.05), with isⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳ,Ⅴgroup in Rockwood. Conclusion:Totally 35 cases and another 31 cases were enrolled in the Kirschner's Nails Cable (2.5 months for average follow up time) and the Kirschner's Nails tension band wire group respectively (2.5 months for average follow up time). The way that treating patellar fractures with Kirschner's Nails Cable is characterized by simple manipulation, rigid fixation, and excellent function of the knee, and this internal fixation which acquires satisfactory results is in accordance with biomechanics and deserve the clinical expansion.
