The Effect Of Fuzhengyiliu Therapy On Endocrine Therapy For Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common urinary system tumor to male, in recent years, the incidence of prostate cancer is rising continuously in China, and now it has become the third common tumors of Urogenital. Endocrine therapy for terminal androgen-sensitive prostate cancer is currently the main treatment, but the side effect of endocrine therapy is apparent, such as hectic fever,sexual appetite losing,abdominal distension,diarrhea,pain in breast,tireness and so on, the incident rate of hectic fever is close to 80%, and it is 20-30% in sexual appetite losing, it can't be implacable unless discontinue of the endocrine therapy, but it will lead to the recurrence or intensification of the disease. Research inside and outside in TCM bring us foreground in therapy of prostate cancer. In recent years, Surgical urology in Guangdong hospital of TCM has treated the prostate cancer with Fuzhengyiliu therapy based on endocrine therapy, which is showing promise in early trials.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the curative effect of Fuzhengyiliu Therapy on Endocrine Therapy for Prostate Cancer, and discuss its clinical curative effect on the side effect of Endocrine Therapy and the improvement of patients' living quality.MethodProspective study and referring to control principle,48 available cases of inpatient or outpatient in Guangdong hospital of TCM and Tumor Hospital of Sun Yat-sen were separated into two groups,30 in the remedy group and 18 in the control group. the treatment group was treated with Fuzhengyiliu therapy based on Endocrine Therapy, while the control group was treated with Endocrine Therapy alone. The treat period was 3 months. Before and after treatment, the treatment group and control group were detected of questionairs to patients with prostate cancer, I—PSS table, AMS table and the level of peripheral serum prostate specific antigen (PSA).Result2 cases were rejected from remedy group,46 available cases were separated into two groups,28 in the remedy group and 18 in the control group. Through statistical analysis, the level of PSA was 42.07 before treatment and 14.93 after treatment with a significant difference before and after treatment (P<0.01) in remedy group; and in the control group, the difference of PSA before and after treatment was 27.5 and 9.5, respectively, three was significant difference as well(P<0.01); the incidence rate of adverse effect caused by Endocrine Therapy for androgen-sensitive prostate cancer was 21.4% in the remedy group while the control group 72.7%, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); the incidence of hot flashes and fatigue was 17.9% and 0% in the remedy group, while it was 50% and 38.5% in the control group, and there was significant difference between two groups (P<0.05); after therapy, the scores of I-PSS in the remedy group (34.89±3.50) were significantly different from those in the control group(38.94±3.96)(P<0.05), and there were significant difference in the scores of MS table between the remedy group (6.29±1.78) and the control group (8.17±1.89) (P<0.05).ConclusionWith the Fuzhengyiliu Therapy and Endocrine Therapy, the incidence rate of adverse effect such as tiredness and hot flush caused by Endocrine Therapy for prostate cancer can be decreased, and the patients'living quality can be improve apparently.
