ObjectiveTo explor the degree of exsistence about bone marrow edema-like lesions(BMLS) taking the tool of MRI in the early generation of osteoarthritis, correlated with rest pain. tenderness index. arthocele WOMAC score。Methods36 patients who have or are at high risk for knee osteoarthritis were selected from the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and the Mawangdui Hospital of Hunan.Patients with a recent history of trauma or findings suggestive of post-traumatic bone marrow changes were excluded. Subchondral BMLs were scored semiquantitatively from 0 to 3 in 10 tibiofemoral subregions. The MRIs of patients. We evaluated the relevance of BMLs and early knee osteoarthritis using Spearman Rank relevant.Results①In 36 patients, the mean age was from 38 years to 45 years, the quantities of female were 30(83.3%), the quantities of male were 6(16.7%),BMI was 28.6±3.9. In 30 normal control people, the mean age was from 38 years to 45 years, the quantities of female were 27(90.0%), the quantities of male were 3(10.0%), BMI was 28.7±3.8.There were no difference in age, gender and BMI between 36 patients and 30 normal control people(P>0.05).Between 36 patients and 30 normal control people, the clinical performance of rest pain. tenderness index. arthocele WOMAC score, that is 29/36 VS 0.2.4±0.3 VS 0.1.5±0.2 VS 0.26.2±5.3 VS 10.8±4.8. 31.9±2.8 VS9.8±1.0, P<0.05.②There were great correlations between BML and rest pain, tenderness index, arthrocele index & WOMAC score; with the higher BML score degree, the higher correlation.ConclusionsIt is positive that degree of BML in MR imaging about the generation of osteoarthritis correlated with the degree of clinical performance and joint capabilities own. Bone marrow edema-like lesions in MR imaging can typify one of the indexes of early diagnosis of osteoarthritis.
