Objective:To evaluate the expression levels of the MHC class I antigen presentation associated proteins GRP78,CRT and ERP57 and their association with HPV16 infection in human cervical cancer lesions from Uygur and Han patients. Methods:The expression of proteins GRP78,CRT and ERP57 in 69 cervicitis tissues including 38 Han and 31 Uygur women and 124 cervical cancer lesions from 36 Han and 88 Uygur women were evaluated by S-P immunohistochemistry, and the infection status of HPV in these tissues was studied by PCR using specific primers for HPV16. Results:The infection rate of HPV 16 in cervical cancer was higher than that in cervicitis tissues,40.91%,8.33% respectively, and the difference was significant (P<0.05). GRP78,CRT and ERP57 in cervical cancer (95.16%,90.32%,90.32%) from both ethnic groups were significantly differences (P<0.05), compared with that in cervicitis tissues(89.96%,50.72%,49.28%) respectively. The expression rates of both GRP78 and CRT in cervicitis from Han women (93.18%,87.50%) were significantly reduced when compared to that in cervical cancer(100.00%,97.22%) from Han women, and the differences had statistical significance yet(P<0.05). The expression rates of both CRT and ERP57 in cervicitis from Uygur women (64.51%,35.48%) were significantly reduced when compared to that in cervical cancer(87.50%,94.32%) from Uygur women, and the differences had statistical significance yet(P<0.05). The overall expression rates of Besides, there were significantly differences(P<0.05) in expression of ERP57 in cervical cancer tissues between Han (80.56%)and Uygur women(94.32%).There were positive correlation in expression of CRT,ERP57,GRP78 and HPV in cervical cancers of Uygur women(r=0.429 P<0.05; r=0.222 P<0.05; r=0.278 P<0.05).There were positive correlation in expression of CRT and GRP78,ERP57in cervical cancers of Uygur women(r=0.579 P<0.05; r=0.353 P<0.05).Conclusion:The detection of GRP78,CRT and ERP57 besides HPV16 may improve diagnosis of cervical cancer. The expressions of ERP57 was significant differences in cervical cancer of ethnic group boths.
