| Lung diseases caused by dust exposure were most harmful diseases due to occupational exposure in China, which occupied the first place for number of new cases and cumulated cases. Among them, however, silicosis was the subtype which had most cases and severity degree.In recent years, artificial gem processing plant gained quick development in China, especially in Guangdong province. Most plants typical with family workshops and mini-enterprises produced by manual or semi-mechanization for the specialness of manual technologies. However, seriously present situations about occupational health in this field have absorbed people's focuses and lead to higher incidence of silicosis. For example, less awareness of laws and regulations, usage of high content of free silica-contain materials, unreasonable engineering constructions of health protection, high-level exposure of productive dust in working environment, etc., al.In this study, for the expectation of better control of occupational diseases and providence of experiences in comprehensive management, we conducted a field investigation on occupational health and attempts of comprehensive management of engineering construction. Characteristic of occupational hazard factors and key points of engineering construction for health protection including application of wet operation and bag dust-collector were also summarized. |
