Objectives: To compare the reflection of sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia and caudal block combined with sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia on perioperative specific cellular immunity of pediatric indirect inguinal hernia. Methods: In this study, 40 children with indirect inguinal hernia were randomized into a control group(Group A), who were treated by sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia, and an experimental group(Group B), who were engaged in the treatment of caudal block combined with sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia. The blood of peripheral vein was drew before anesthesia, 2h, 1d, and 3d after the end of the operation. The change of T lymphocyte subset was detected by Flow CytoMeter. Results: CD3~+, CD4~+, the ratio of CD4~+ and CD8~+ in Group A dropped 2h after the end of the operation, compared with that before anesthesia (P<0.05). However, there was no significant change in Group B (P>0.05). CD8~+ changed insignificantly in both groups. CD3~+, CD4~+, the ratio of CD4~+ and CD8~+ in both groups obviously lower than that of 1d after the end of the operation compared with that before anesthesia (P<0.05). The degree of reduction of Group A was more obvious than Group B (P<0.05).Conclusions: Both groups can inhibit the function of specific cellular immunity. However, the reflection of caudal block combined with sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia was lower than that of sevoflurane for laryngeal mask anesthesia.
