| Objective To study the clinical features on colorectal cancer(CRC) in young people. Methods Retrospective analysis about the clinical data of 52 cases of the young (≤35 years) colorectal cancer confirmed by our hospital from January 2004 to December 2007, while with the random sampling of 52 cases of colorectal cancer in elder were compared at the same period.Results①The young group with higher family history(15.3%) and unhealthy lifestyle(smoking, alcohol drinking, eating disorders) accounted for 63.5%, significantly higher than the control group(23.1%) (P<0.01).②The main clinical manifestations were blood stool and bowel habits changes in both groups, whiles the blood stool(71.2%), abdominal pain (48.1%) in young group were significantly higher than the control guoup(P<0.01),and rectum was the most frequent position of CPC in both groups.③The young group with poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, including mucinous adenocarcinoma and signet ring cell carcinoma accounted for 61.5%, significantly higher than the control group(15.4%)(P<0.01); young group of III and IV of TNM staging accounted for 76.9%, significantly higher than control group(42.3%)(P<0.01).④The misdiagnosis rates of the two groups were 34.6%,24.9%, no significant difference (P> 0.05); the treatments of both groups were surgery combined with chemotherapy;the 1-year,3-year,5-year survival rates of young group were 54.3%,26.9%,10.8%, significantly lower than the control group,89.4%,55.3%,29.8%(all P<0.01).Conclusion There were no typical clinical features in young colorectal cancer and inadequate attention to it,which caused high misdiagnosis rate. Combined with poorly differentiated, highly malignant, early metastasis, rapid development, prognosis was extremely poor. |
