ObjectiveTo research a novel tumor related antigen CD147expression level on primary hepatocarcinoma and elucidate the its pathological character and influence on the prognosis of liver transplantation patients .MethodsCollecting 180 patients samples which were diagnosed with primary hepatocarcinoma and operated with liver transplantation (without radiology and chemical therapy before surgery ) and 42 patients samples with hepatoangioma as the control , we used the immunohistochemistry staining to evaluate the expression of CD147 and score every section ,at the same time collecting the related clinical data to analysis the difference of CD147 expression between benign liver disease and cancer tissue sections by student t tests andχ~2 test, and used log rank and Kaplan Meier survival rate analysis to probe the relativity between the expresion level of CD147 and the survival rate of the liver cancer patients after liver transplantation .ResultsThe CD147 was mainly expressed on the hepatocytes membrane and cytoplasm after double blind evaluation of all the sections: The positive rate in the carcinoma and normal sections was 65% and 3% respectively ,and the expression was significantly higher in the liver cancer compared with the normal liver tissue (P<0.0001): The expression level of CD147 had no relationship with the gender ,age ,the number of tumor and serum AFP of the HCC patients (P﹥0.05): It had relativity in the differentiation and TNM phase(P<0.05), and has negative relativity with the survival time which means the survival time of negative CD147 expression patients was longer significantly than those with positive expression of this molecule .ConclusionsCD147 was positively expressed in the HCC tissue and had relativity with the malignancy of HCC: Its expression level in the HCC was closely related to the recurrence in the HCC patients after liver transplantation , the stronger of the CD147 expression of ,and the shorter of survival time , CD147 could be an independent factor to evaluate the prognosis , combing the pathological grade and clinical score it could be a novel and sound to predict the recurrence after the HCC resection .
