| Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese therapy methodology, and it provides guiding meaning for clinical diagnosis and research while studying its function and mechanism. Through the physiological experiment on acupuncture effect, it is found that acupuncture leads to increased calcium concentration at acu-point, while the physiological responses caused by acupuncture under the condition that the calcium concentration was reduced by the injection of EDTA are different from the ones caused by acupuncture under the normal condition, and these show that there is a mutual influence between calcium concentration and acupuncture. Calcium plays an important role in generation and conduction of Acupuncture neural electrical signal, but so far there is no research on the effect of calcium concentrations on acupuncture through the analysis of acupuncture neural electrical signal. In this paper, it is proposed that acupuncture electrical signal is used to analyze effects of calcium concentrations on acupuncture. In this paper, an experiment is designed to receive neural signals in spinal dorsal root caused by acupuncture on Zusanli where the calcium concentration is reduced by the injection of EDTA, and a control group is designed with the injection of control solution which has no effect on the calcium concentration. Modern time series analysis method is employed to analysis the experimental data coming from each period before and after the spraying time and the control group. Observe the effect of the calcium concentration on the coding of acupuncture discharge sequence of rat dorsal root nerve filaments.First, class selection of acupuncture electrical signals is carried out to extract the spike train of individual neurons as the main object of study. Second, the basic characteristics of acupuncture signals, including the number of the spike in fixed time interval, the amplitude statistics of the spike and the length and the coefficient of variation of ISIs sequence, showed that the decreased calcium concentration has influence on acupuncture spike train. Third, the nonlinear analysis of acupuncture electrical signals, including power spectrum analysis of the original signal, correlation dimension and Lyapunov exponent analysis of the ISI sequences and Lempel-Ziv complexity analysis of the discharge pulse sequences, shows the effect of decreased calcium concentration on acupuncture signal from different angles. Finally, the wavelet energy entropy of the original acupuncture electrical signal is analyzed, and the conclusion is that the calcium concentration influences the information uncertainty of acupuncture electrical signal.According to the analysis of electrical signal, this paper proves that calcium concentration in acu-point affects the generation and transmission of acupuncture neural electrical signal, and gives some theoretical supports to the acupuncture science. |
