Recently, the amphiphilic calixarenes has many applications in drug solubilization, delivery, and so on. Therefore, attracts increasing attentions. Calixarenes can include gust molecules by their hydrophobic cavity as well as by self-assembly aggregation. Here novel amphiphilic calix[4]arenes were synthesized and investigated as a drug carrier. The results conclude the following main points:1. Three new calix[4]arene deritives with the glycol ether chains at the upper rim and the n-decane substituted at the lower rim have been synthesized, and characterized by 1HNMR, MS and IR spectroscopy.2. When the number of the glycol ether chains increasing, the solubility of the amphiphilic calix[4]arene also rising in water. The amphiphilic calix[4]arene with 12 glycol ether chains at the upper rim could solve in water well, at the same time, it could form a lot of micelles(d=4nm).3. Naproxon and ibuprofen, two anti-inflammation and antipyretic drugs.The solubility of the two drugs could increase obviously when the amphiphilic calix[4]arene present in solution. Generally, the solubility of the naproxon is about 0.02mg/ml in water and the ibuprofen is 0.05mg/ml; if the calixarene 16 would be added in the solution, the solubility would increase to 1.00mg/ml. The multiple of the naproxon is 50, and the ibuprofen is 20.4. During the course of investigating the self-assembly of the dinary system, it has been found that the ratio of the calix[4]arene deritive 16 and the calix[4]arene deritive 18 can effect the shape of the self-assembly, when the ratio from 1:0.2 to 1:1, the shape from nanoball to nanotube.5. This thesis studied the self-assembly of the calix[4]arene deritive 18 in the mixture of the ethnol and water. It could be found that the shape from the nanofiber to the nanoball through changing the bulk ratio of the ethnol and water. Especially, a lot of circles have been found in solution when the bulk ratio of the ethnol and water increasing.
