| BackgroundMesotherapy has been practicing by physicians in the medical field for 58 years, most frequently in France for treating sport injuries in Sport Medicine and symptomatic treatment in Family Medicine. Unfortunately, this safe and effective technique is not common in Great Sino medical field. I was so lucky to learn this technique from some authorities in the world, including Dr. Philippe Petit, Dr. Janine Gaston and Dr. Hahm Sun Ae. In recent years, it has been introduced to the field of Aesthetic Medicine. Hair Loss and Alopecia are common all over the world, regardless the gender, age and race. Unfortunately, there is still no perfect or ideal solution for them with the conventional medicine! Therefore, searching for a safe and effective way for treating this problem is a task of bio-medical health providers and researchers.PurposesThrough the introduction the mechanism of the Mesotherapy and application of it for the purpose of hair growth, this study is to discuss the rationality and effectiveness using this technique for the treatment of alopecia and hair loss.Methods1. Using Folliscope Hair and Scalp Evaluation System for the check up of hair and scalp condition and comparison for the before and after of 30 patients (Mesotherapy experimental group, M1) who were 16 male and 14 female patients with androgenic alopecia.2. Using Mesotherapy with MS, mesotherapy solution(MS),3 times per month for 2 months for treating 30 patients with above mentioned alopecia and study the result.3. Rubbing and messaging with MS for 5 minutes,3 times per month for 2 months for treating 30 randomized adults (M2) and study the result.4.30 persons without treatment, (C3) also using Folliscope Hair and Scalp Evaluation System for the check up of hair and scalp condition and comparison for the before and after of the patient.ResultsGroup 1 (Treatment Group):Using Mesotherapy with mesotherapy (MS) solutionUsing mesotherapy for the purpose of hair growth is effective regardless the gender, age.the mean for density after treatment is 140.87 hairs/cm 2,±29.71 which was significantly greater than density before treatment:113.90 hairs/cm 2,±28.590 he mean for caliber after treatment:.0635,±0.129 was significantly greater than caliber before treatment:.0433,±0159The improvement rate of density:26%The improvement rate of caliber:56%Satisfaction (by questionnaire) of patient:81%Group 2 (Rubbing or Messaging with Mesotherapy (MS) Solution):the mean density after treatment:120.70 hairs/cm 2±26.061 was non-significantly greater than density before 120.73 hairs/cm 2,±25.563the mean caliber after treatment was .0509±0.1894, significantly greater than caliber before treatment:0436±0138.The mean improvement rate of density:0%The mean improvement rate of caliber:15%Group 3 (Control Group):the mean density 2 months later without treatment was:98.93,±28.162 which was NON-significantly greater than the density 2 months before. The mean density before was 99.30±28.074the mean for caliber 2 months later without treatment was:.0610,±.0160, was NOT significantly bigger than caliber before:.0610,±.0160The improvement rate of density:0%The improvement rate of caliber:0%ConclusionAfter the 2-month course, the control group (C3) was not showing any improvement in hair growth. The massage experimental group (M2) showed an improvement in hair caliber but not the density. The mesotherapy treatment experiment group (T1), the patients were found to have improvement in hair caliber, density and scalp condition by observation. Thus, implied that the application of Mesotherapy for treating patients with alopecia and loose hair is considered to be rational and effective! The Experimental Treatment Group 1(T1)Using Mesotherapy with Mesotherapy solution for 30 patients with loose hair and alopecia, regardless of the gender, age and the cause of loose hair, the improvements were found in both hair density and hair caliber. The improvement rate of density:26 %; the improvement rate of caliber:56%. It is found to be significant after statistic calculation (P< 0.001). The additional improvement of scalp condition was also noted. Moreover, the average satisfactory rate is around 80% by questionnaires.Massage Treatment Experimental Group (M2):Using massage treatment with Mesotherapy solution for 30 patients with loose hair and alopecia, regardless of the gender, age and the cause of loose hair, the improvement rate of density:0%; the improvement rate of caliber:15%.There might be some improvement using massage with mesotherapy solution. However, using mesotherapy technique is better probably because the depth of the penetration is better than simply massage.Control Group (C3):The 30 volunteers in control group received no treatment were found to have no improvement in hair growth. In conclusion, using mesotherapy for the treatment purpose of hair growth is rational and effective!... |
