Objective:To investigate the relationship of maximum width and partial necrosis in sural neurofasciocutaneous flap; introduce the using of oblique design in sural neurofasciocutaneous flapMethod:Between April of 2001 and April of 2010,179 sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps (175 patients) were performed, of which 4 patients did bilateral sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps. The age range was 3 to 78 years(average 32.4 years).159 soft tissue defects (88.8%)were caused by trauma, Other 20 defects were caused by non-trauma factors (11.2%). All the defects complicate with the exposed bone, joint, muscle tendon and Achilles tendon. The maximum width(MW) of the flap(the main part) ranges from 4cm to 15cm,the average maximum width is 8.28±2.40cm. The flaps were divided into two groups:the survival group (including the flaps which were complete survival, distal superficial necrosis and wound dehiscence) and the partial necrosis group. According to the maximum width, the flaps were devided into five groups: group A(4cm≤MW≤6cm), group B(6cm
