Objective To analyze the factor that would affect the accuracy of diagnosis of thyroid nodules with ultrasound. Methods From Jan 2008-Dec 2008,145cases of throid nodules misdiagnosed by ultrasound were retrospectively studied.Conclusion Tyroid nodules with Mulitnodular goiter,Hashimoto's thyroiditis,calcification could cause confusion in diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma and ultrasound maybe insufficient in differentiation of some special type of thyroid carcinoma like cystic thyroid papillary carcinama, diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary carcinoma and microinvasive follicular thyroid carcinoma.
