Objective:To discuss the treatment method and prognosis of acetabular fracture combined with the femoral head.Method:Eighteen cases of acetabular fracture combined with the femoral head were treated from 2003 to 2010.Various procedures were taken according to classifications.Closed reduction,skeletal traction, open reduction and internal fixation with plate,cannulate screw,absorbable screw or total hip replacement were performed respectively.Result:Follow-up ranged from 2 months to 7 years for an average of 27 months according to Evaluation Criteria of Thompson-Epstein. In all the 18 cases,excellent result was achieved in 4 cases,good in 8 cases, fair in 3,poor in 3.The final satisfactory rate was 66.7%.Conclusion:Different methods of the treatment should be chosen accord- ing to characteristic of injury and different classification of various acetabular fracture combined with the femoral head.Early diagnosis,proper treatment, early functional exercise and late weight-bearing are important to gain a satisfied result.
