| Objective: To explore the clinical effect of total hip replacement (THR) with uncement prosthesis for patients older than 55 years old. Methods: The surgical effect 3 of 45 patients who underwent THR from 2002 to2004 were retrospectively analyzed. The follow up duration was 6 to 8 years, averaging 6. 8 years. According to Harris scoring and actinogram, the postoperative hip joint function was evaluated. Results: All patients haven't got infection, loosening of prosthesis, a lot of pain of hip or function disorder The Harris hip score increased from pre - operative 51points to post-operative 87. 9 points . Conclusion: The medium- and long-term results of THR with uncement prosthesis for patients older than 55 years old are satisfactory, complications are less than those with cement prosthesis. THR can improve patients hip joint function obviously, elevate their life quality. |
