Thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy is an autoimmune disease, Many patients associated with abnormal thyroid function, its symptoms and signs was mainly due to thickening of extraocular muscle and increasing of orbital fat volume, and the latter possibly played the more main role. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma ( PPARγ) Involved in fat cell differentiation and inflammation in the human orbit, which are considered to be related to thyroid-associated ophthalmpathy. PPARγagonist thiazolidinediones play an important role in adipocyte differentiation, and its antagonist inhibited the formation of fat cells, so as to the treatment of thyroid associated ophthalmopathy put forward new ideas.
