Objective:Evaluate the clinical efficacy of minimally interbody fusion by Mast Quadrant system and traditional open interbody fusion in the treatment of lumbardegenerative disease, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two different methods in order to guide the clinical treatment, give instructions to further clinical practices. Methods:There are 42 patients in this group,in which all were treated with minimally interbody fusion by Mast Quadrant system and traditional open interbody fusion. All case were collected from Traditional Hospital of Zhangzhou, from December 2008 to January 2010.The patients were divided randomly into invasive group (20 cases) and open group (22cases). To record bleeding volume in operation and operation time, time of taking painkillers and hospitalization after operation, preoperative and postoperative JOA.score, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), intervertebral height. To use SPSS14.0 for statistical analysis, evaluate surgical treatment and the degree of improvement of clinical symptoms.Results:1.Two group patients are not striking different on age and weight, gender, clinical manifestations and signs, course, segment disease, lesion type (P> 0.05)2.The bleeding volume in operation and hospitalization after operation of invasive group are significantly less than open group. The two groups are statistically significant difference(P< 0.01).The amount of average hemorrhage reduced 383.59ml,the average hospitalization after operation reduced 7.61days,and the average time of taking painkillers reduced 6.38weeks. The operation time of invasive group is longer than open group, but the two groups are no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).3.By the ODI. Of preoperative and postoperative ,there are all statistically significant difference(P<0.01) in two groups. In analysis of JOA.score and ODI.in 1day before operation are no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). There are statistically significant difference (P<0.01) in ODI lmonth and 6 month after operation between the two groups. But there are no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)according to the impovement rate of JOA.scores between the two groups, but there are statistically significant difference(P<0.05)6 month after operation. Conclusion:The minimally interbody fusion by Mast Quadrant system have much advantage with less blood loss, trauma, short hospitalization, rapid postoperative recovery compared to traditional open interbody fusion.
