For most people, diet is a main route of exposure to heavy metals, so determination of concentrations of heavy metals in foodstuffs and health risk assessment of these elements to human via dietary intake are very important. The multielementals concentrations such as mercury (Hg), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), manganese (Mn), and selenium (Se) in most frequently consumed food were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Using pollution index (Pi) to evaluate the food polluted degree, eight kinds of vegetables in 10 were all polluted at different level, but the sampled rice, pork, radish and potato were below the safe level of the national food hygienic limits of toxic heavy metals. Among them, Cd and Hg were the most important contributors to heavy metal pollution in Wanshan. The average dietary intakes of Hg, Pb, Cd, Mn and Se by an adult man of 60 kg body weight were: 26.7, 167, 86.3, 1061 and 42.2μg/day respectively. Hazard index (HI) was calculated to evaluate health risk from multielements due to dietary intake by the residents, and it is 3.11, which suggested that the dietary intake of these foodstuffs might bring potential health risk to local residents and needed more cares.A fast and accurate method in determination of seven elements, including Cr, Mn, As, Se, Cd, Hg and Pb in human blood and urine samples using ICP-MS was developed. It is found that the heavy metal concentrations are in agreement with certified values in reference materials. It's simple, fast and accurate. The proposed method can be used as a referenced method for fast screening of heavy metals in human blood and urine samples. We observed that a half of residents'concentrations of urinary mercury exceeding 10 ng/mL from Wanshan mining area.Multielementals concentrations of Women's Blood and urinary, who were from Guiyang, Tongren and Wanshan in Guizou province were deteminated. It is found that concentrations of Cr, Mn, Se and Hg from Wanshan were higher than the other two places; concentrations of As and Pb from Guiyang were higher than the other two places, and concentrations of blood Pb from Guiyang were between 100~170 ng/mL, higher than international hygienic limit (100 ng/mL). MDA and 8-OH dG were determinated. It was founded that both MDA and 8-OH dG in women from Tongren were lowest, and it indicated that oxidative damage degree in women from Tongren were lowest.
