Chang (Changsha) Zhu (Zhuzhou), and Tan(Xiangtan), three cities are located in the northeast of Hunan Province and share a similar dialect. The unique geographic location and history origin makes the folk song languages in this region take on sharp-cut features. Taking folk song words as a research objective, this dissertation elaborates on the language styles and rhetoric of three cities by means of filed investigation, text analysis and literature data.In this dissertation, firstly, it makes a brief introduction to the current situation, history, data collection of folk songs in this area, main contents and singing of folk songs. Secondly, it also clarifies its research aim, meaning and the origin of research materials and its general information. Thirdly, it analyses the features of phonetics and rhetoric in terms of evens, rhythms, rhymes, repeat sounds and company sounds. It also analyses the regional features of ChangZhuTan folk songs rhetoric from the angle of dialect words, numerals. It analyses the rhetoric features of sentences in the aspects of rhetorical question, question sentence, active sentence, subject omission sentence, whole sentence and scattered sentence in ChangZhuTan folk songs, then, it analyses several rhetoric commonly used in ChangZhuTan folk songs. Finally, this dissertation probes into the straightness, sincerity and crafty of languages in the folk songs, disclosing the tight connection between the making of language styles and local cultures.
