Color is a unique language in oil painting. It is often the representation of an artist's rich emotion. When the language of color exhibits through a variety of aesthetic thought, schools of art, personal style and technique of expression, it is becoming more and more colorful. From the classical to the post-Impressionism and then to modern art, the language of color in oil painting has gone through a long transformation process. This dissertation discusses the development of the language of color in oil painting in the various stages, analyzes and summarizes the development of the expressiveness of colors and it also elaborates on the hard work and conflicts in creation in three parts.The first part simply describes the logical deduction of Western painting colors - the development from realism to the expressiveness.The second part discusses the development of the expressiveness of colors in Western painting. It mainly discusses the development of post-impressionist,fauvism and analyzes some related works.The third part elaborates on the emotional expression of the painter in the creation of the color painting. The expressive language of color in post-impressionism and fauvism has given the painter great inspiration and it has also been better presented by the painter in the painting. |
