Plum Vase is a general designation of ancient Chinese porcelain withthe features of small-mouthed, short-necked, plump shoulder, abdomen,narrow tibial. It is a typical national culture representative of the traditionalChinese porcelain. Unfortunately, some people thought it was only anordinary"wine vessel"with little research value. Actually, there is lots ofcultural consensus behind the Plum Vase, but people turn a blind eye to it.Through research, we can fully understand our ancestors'survivingexperience and cultural consensus as well as our ancestors'emotional andspiritual expression. In the development of Chinese porcelain history,Plum Vase maintains its unique characteristics with people's appreciationhas been silently testified its artistic value.This dissertation mainly discuses Plum Vase during the period ofSong Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. While inthe history of China, in Song Dynasty there is not only one dynasty butwith other three dynasties, says, Liao Dynasty, Jin Dynasty and Xi XiaDynasty which were established by Qidan nationality, Nuzhen nationalityand Dangxiang Nationality respectively. But, this dissertation only talksabout Plum Vase in Song Dynasty other three dynasties at the same period.Through the cognitive framework of the ancient Chinese porcelain vase,dissertation makes a continual study of the ancient Chinese Plum Vase's modeling and the development of the features of decorative art , thus toanalyzes the cause of formation of the ancient Chinese Plum Vase andcultural identity it contains. Through aesthetic commonality of followingthe fashion and cultural background in artistic creation as is embodied inthe law of development of ancient Chinese ceramics vase, the dissertationis aimed to arrive a balanced understanding of promoting personalityduring the modern Ceramic artistic creation.
