Analysis Of Material Making Ideology In Traditional Costume

China is one of the ancient civilizations which has the longest and unbroken history, chinese culture derived in ancient times, but why our ancestor choosed their special option among many possibilities? So we can answer this question through exploring elements, morphology and concept during process of making traditional clothing from view of making material and restore these cultural ideologies during making material.This article focus on researching and analyzing clothing in folk clothing museum at Jiangnan University with theoretical basis contains theories and concepts and technics practice of traditional dress in relevant books and documents and with factual basis combining with some investigation of traditional costume existing at Jiangnan area and so on, exploring source of traditional ideology of making and finding regularity in making art combining with explored achievements in relevant domain. Article has summarized three philosophies of making reflected"preparing material for using"in traditional dress, which are"practicability, applicability, skillfully using"from correlation among practicability and aesthetic character and ethics, at the same time, they are basic theory for discuss costume; then we analyzing making ideology of applicability and manufacturability for convenient, healthy and comfortable basing on practicability and from aspects of surviving, physiology and living; we also have analyzed three traditional making ideology of"completed apparatus with no decoration","creating with skills","free development by themselves"and explored symbiotic making theory of"apparatus"and"adornment"in traditional costume based on"symbiotic"theory and"symmetry(equal symmetry and unequal symmetry) and asymmetry"theory for making design and some other research methods, some material analyze of costume has been done in folk dress museum of Jiangnan university basing on aesthetics idea of morphological aesthetics simultaneously; in addition, symbiotic manifestation of traditional ideology of making of"apparatus"and"adornment"has been concluded in this article, which are"completed apparatus with no decoration","surveying character of object""free development by themselves", at last, some basic ideas of making and value criterions like"implement contains principle"have been formed combining with ancient moral etiquette and standards.Above all, with the base of traditional costume, this article has established theoretical framework of theology of making existing in traditional dress and revealed cultural connotation of traditional material making thoughts. Research work in this article has definite theoretical significance and potential application value for constructing and improving material making idea of art of technology , and for chinese native garment design.
