Interior architecture design is an emerging discipline which was derived from architecture design. It is the extension of architecture design in the interior space. In addition, it is deeply related to different fields of human beings'life. It has the closest relation with human beings and directly indicates the level of science and technology as well that of the social life. Meanwhile, it is the window of the spiritual world. The development of a country needs the guidance of policies and the making of plans. The realization of an individual's ideal is subjected to the set-up of his aims and the implementation of his plan. The teaching of a teacher should be constrained by the curriculum and influenced by the teaching plan which can be adjusted to individual students. Interior architecture design is the highly-creative thinking activities. Therefore, it should follow certain rules because of its art and technology as well as its special attribute of a combination of aesthetic and practical use. Besides, it should utilize scientific and effective design procedure and methods.The process of a designer's realization of his design aims is just a process of finding and analyzing problems as well as solving them. Unlike drawing which can be carried out by intuition and inspiration, It is in need of judgement, thinking, investigation as well as decision.No matter you are a profession designer of interior architecture design or a student who is a beginner of this field, this primary aim of this thesis is to discuss how to understand design, how to design, how to design effectively and achieve good performance by using scientific designing meathods.Using successful design examples as the study target and investigating the designing methods of the designers of different levels and different status, this thesis collects the understandings and experience of famous designers. Also it introduces the relevant clients and profession partners'opinions and views toward designer. Further, by referring to the theories of relevant design methods at home and abroad, it fully analyzes and summarizes basic features and rules of design methods as well as verifies them. On the basis of reasonable and logical thinking and analysis of practical cases, the thesis is to basic application rules and general features of the idea of design creation following the process of form the outside to the inside, from one point to the whole area and from the appearance to the essence.Through the exploration of the basic theories and the analysis of design cases, we can give more emphasis on the design behaviors while we are confronted with design problems. It can help people who are involved in design study and design work clearly know that design is not simply "function plus form" as well as repetitious representation of the established knowledge and experience. Actually design process is one consisting of problem analysis, problem solving and realization of design concept. The external form should start from the interior to the exterior. It is determined by various design premises, requirements and problems. It is generated by the vertical depth and the horizontal width of design thinking. It has never been the mechanical formal language, let alone the so-called inspiration.Focus of any design is innovative and creative thinking, which is the soul of design. It can be a guidance of design practice to grasp the exploration of basic theories of design methods and rules. The activity of design creation practice can find solution to problems and realize design concept as well as help us understand design methods. Meanwhile, we hope we can become a creative design professional. Of course, the aim of this thesis is not to tell each designer or student majoring in design that it is the only answer one should or must do it this way or that way. Anyhow it is very hard to define design methods precisely as well as provide a normal standard answer.The making of design methods and process is like the writing of this thesis. The general thesis developing method is to draft an outline, the theme, the argument, argumentation methods and detail the writing order and structure of the thesis. However, in fact, we can not set all questions in advance and then start to write. Rolling out of the outline and contents must start together for they are mutually related and go hand in hand. Sometimes they can mingle with each other and repeat. In complementing and perfecting of the work, the writing of a thesis and design method can develop the same way. Any design method and process should adjust design method and control design process depending on project changes. We bet that good method of interior architecture design is not necessary to produce excellent works of interior architecture design. However, excellent works of interior architecture design must have a feasible design method and process to guarantee the making of such works.
