Color is a comprehensive subject, involving a wide range of knowledge. People can find color in every aspect of life, and color plays an important role in life. With the development of society and technology and the improvement of living standard, cars gradually become a main way of transport. People do not only have functional but aesthetic requirements, so experts predict that the color will be the new selling point of cars in the future. The importance of color application for cars has been recognized long time ago abroad, and specialized researching agencies have been set up providing color cards for car industry. However, this is almost a blank field in China.Based on the above consideration, the author wanted to provide some advice for the color application for Chinese cars though a comprehensive analysis of the application of the color for cars. Several aspects will be discussed about the car color application. First, the influential factors for car color application, namely the color of the physiological and psychological constraints, traffic safety constraints, preference of the consumers and the difference of fashion and common color usage. Second, a longitudinal analysis and summary of the car color application in some representative countries. Finally, a horizontal comparison of the color application in and abroad. After all these researches, some referential suggestions will be given for car color application in China. |
