1271 Marco Polo came to China. Maybe just for commercial purposes or any others. Whereas, trade between China and the West has become more frequently while cultural exchanges has become closer and closer after this travel. Whether this legend master is called "Transcriptase of the Oriental Overview" or "The Travels of Marco Polo", once published, it became the best-selling book during the Middle-Age. Even during Columbus's third visit to India, he had kept this book close at hand, and had been meticulously to do a commentary. It is a fortune that although all of European recordings were recorded in Latin, Marco Polo was an excellent language genius who could flexibly use the common used language of the world at the time, which is French. Meanwhile, he elected his cellmate Ruth ladder Him as the writer, with the cooperation of writing style in Cleveland, "The Travels of Marco Polo" became a particularly innovative, but those younger players who deified Marco Polo had afterwards tried their best to make this work rich and perfect, it's a pity to say that results after the perfect origin is the lost of authenticity. Therefore, this thesis focuses on whether Marco Polo had been to China or not as well as if the content recorded in the book " The Travels of Marco Polo" was true to make a discussion. The first part shows some relevant presentation to both Marco Polo himself and his book "The Travels of Marco Polo". Whereas it is the respectively introduction of "The Travels of Marco Polo" and his seventeen years'experiences in China that had been mainly talked about just from aspects such as diets that showed Chinese characteristics, money, music, medicine and things related with city and traffic. It makes some references to recordings of "The Travels of Marco Polo" to restore scenes of the Yuan Dynasty even the understandings to China of Europeans during that time. The second part of this thesis reviews the earliest Chinese scholars'introduction and study on Marco Polo and "The Travels of Marco Polo". With the historical facts that have been found by our Chinese scholars during research process of "The Travels of Marco Polo", this thesis makes more in-depth demonstration that Marco Polo himself had been to China and makes sure the truths about introduction of China in the book "The Travels of Marco Polo".While during the third part, this thesis mainly combines with relative content in reference to "The Travels of Marco Polo" in the history of Yuan Dynasty and recordings of Yuan Dynasty in the book "The Travels of Marco Polo", highlighting the various historical arguments about whether Marco Polo has been to China as well as the authenticities about recordings of the Yuan Dynasty in "The Travels of Marco Polo". This thesis not only recognizes that the introduction to all aspects of the Yuan Dynasty in the book "The Travels of Marco Polo" is not complete with some omission and exaggeration of many important historical facts, but also analyzes that the most representative and unique things of China such as the Great Wall and Chinese tea did not appear in "The Travels of Marco Polo". It uses the historical facts to demonstrate the various causes why most representatives did not appear in "The Travels of Marco Polo"Just as the preface said, this book is given to those who desire to understand the people in different regions, different races and different customs of the world. The book "The Travels of Marco Polo" had made a great impact on the later generations especially opened the Europeans'see sights so that they understood China. This book recorded in the case of many Asian countries, while the most important mentions of the travels are introductions of China that is the large area, the rich products and the large population. What has been left the world today after Marco Polo's experiences? 700 years later, we followed in his footsteps to relive the past long journey and finally to China. However, we wouldn't take the two-masted sailing boat, through the desert and the Pamirs on foot like him or even endure torture of hunger and thirst. However, of all those hardships he experienced, the whole most important or most representative aspects mustn't been missed. This is a round trip between the past and the present, containing large amount of amazing things. His greatness lies not in where he came from, but rather where he would go.Marco Polo had brought great shock on Europeans by telling what he has saw and heard in China. He described to the Europeans that the Chinese people used a black stone as a fuel for daily life, which can not be understood by the Europeans. However, it is the shocking narrative that exists some historical inaccuracies. This thesis also uses a number of examples to make more in-depth understanding of the historical facts to record the reduction of travel events like they themselves are while the incorrect documents were pointed out and proofed.
