Research On Lv Zuqian's Prose

Lv Zuqian's Neo-Confucianism, writing theory and prose had an extensive influence on the Southern Song Dynasty. There are lots of works on Neo-Confucianism and writing theory of Lv Zuqian, and few on his prose. What's more, previous research tends to study these three aspects respectively instead of studing them as a whole. To sum up the above analysis, the paper will make an overall analysis on Lv Zuqian's prose, with an attempt to research the three aspects together and explore their relationship, aiming to have a deeper and more profound understanding about his prose. The paper consists of three parts:introduction, text and epilogue。The text is made up of three chapters, the first of which combs and summarizes his writing theory in his works from both the macroscopical and microcosmic aspects, uncovering the fact that his writing theory relies mainly on the philosophy of Neo-Confucianism while considering literature thought as its supplementary support. The second chapter researches the origin of Confucian classics of his prose, clears the relationship between his prose and classic accomplishment. Not skills but thought were learned from classic books. The third chapter analyses similarities and differences between his writing theory and Literary Styles, and displays the phenomenon that his writing theory and Literary Styles were consistent in his early time while different later. The third chapter attempts to figure out the reason of this phenomenon.
