The essay mainly regards the well-known works of China and US, which appreciate their animation pruduction and consumption status over the years. I will make these anthropomorphic animation roles as the main object of study from the two countries since 1912, to explain the term of anthropomorphism both from rhetoric and animation, and also make a discussion of what a positive role do these characterizations in animation movies to play. The key to discuss from this essay is the different performance of characterization between the scripts of the two countries. This essay will be divided into three parts: First of all, a brief discription will be made to explain the object selection for the research work in order to prove the necessity of researching via the different history of animation. Then From a macro point of view I will show the certain characterizations from well-known works. For example, the overall figures of Chinese animation tend to shape manly, while their facial contours and expressions are much more implicit than American; When setting the dialogue and activities of the scene, American animations tend to return a natural and original state while Chinese animations hardly do that. The third part of the paper I will try to explain the reason of significant difference, it is the different history and political environment of each parts that make the different attitudes towards animation industry development. At least, the different historical background and cultural values determine the different attitudes, and all of these reflect onto the animation roles. In the summary, the essay refers to the emergence of some Chinese animation movies during these years have a tendency to imitate ones in other countries, esp. America. It also point out some problems of Chinese animation industry and try hard to make recommendations accordingly.
