Recently, more and more research is focused on the meta-perception. As one type of meta-perception, meta-stereotype gradually becomes a new researchful topic at home and abroad. The concept of meta-stereotype is firstly defined by Vorauer and her colleagues in 1998, to refer to a person's beliefs on the stereotype those out-group members hold about his or her own group (Vorauer, Main,& O'Connell,1998). The recent research on meta-stereotype is focused on its effect factor, mechanism, effect on the intergroup relationship etc. The present study is designed with three parts to investigate the meta-stereotype.Experiment 1:The "power" (independent variable) was randomly and implicitly distributed into high power group and low power group by E-prime, measuring subjects'meta-stereotype's activation on Japanese through their response time of the words related meta-stereotype in the lexical decision task. The result showed that meta-stereotypes are especially like to become activated in a situation of low power or powerlessness.Experiment 2:To implicitly measure the other-stereotype Chinese have on the Japanese by IAT, explicitly measuring the other-stereotype Chinese have on the Japanese by a questionnaire in paper, comparing the results with the results of meta-stereotype to describe the effect on intergroup relationship. The result showed that meta-stereotype's effect on intergroup relationship is more important than other-stereotype, it could be indicative of the implicit intergroup attitude. The third part of present study discussed the effect of personality type on the meta-stereotype from 70 subjects'MBTI personality type principle. The result showed that:From the Introversion dimension, the subjects'reactive time is significantly lower than that in extraversion dimension; From the Judging dimension, subjects' reactive time is significantly lower than that in perceiving dimension.
