China contemporary popular culture emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is a kind of cultural landscape that fit contemporary social market economy era background and contemporary mass multiple aesthetic demand, reflect contemporary mass daily life, access to social public participation and acceptation. Popular culture has the omnipresent, the ever-present characteristics, with strong penetration and appeal, make public in participation and accept products of popular culture at the same time the ideology implied in the popular culture . Therefore, popular culture have the enormous influence in public ideology, the emotional pursuit, morality and other aspects .Then, the Chinese contemporary popular culture has intervened to daily life of mass at all levels, using the great vitality and powerful social efficiency to influence or even change the public's daily life and social activities, shaping the public new life forms and personality outlook. The mass media is the main transmission way of popular culture, all kinds of social gender role behavior appeared in it will have important influence in the daily life of social public, will strengthen social public gender cognitive and develop social public aesthetic tastes and habits of sex, will eventually affect social public daily lifestyles and code of conduct .At all it will construct the social gender role norms of today's society which was recognized by the public generally."Gender" concept proposed in the 1960s and 1970s by feminists. In their opinions gender is constructed, they emphasized that the construction role that social culture played on sex. From the feminist perspective research of Chinese contemporary popular culture is a kind of relatively novel ways of thinking. China contemporary popular culture has participated in contemporary Chinese people's gender construction, to a certain extent, change of Chinese people cognition and looking forward to the gender. This paper based on the feminist perspective, used "gender" concept for theoretical tool , to combine feminism and popular culture, formed the understanding and reasonable, fair judgments, by unscrambling social gender landscape showed by Chinese contemporary popular culture.In addition to introduction and conclusion the paper is divided into three parts.The introduction part, from the view of the main body construction and social gender construction, briefly introduces the essay's theoretical background of popular culture and gender construction in China and the research situation on this topic at home and abroad. This part will also demonstrate the paper's writing intentions and its framework.The first part will give a detailed and systematic description of the theory about gender construction and Chinese contemporary popular culture. Chinese contemporary popular culture has its rationality of existence and its emergence was the inevitable result of social development. At the same time feminism has been greatly developed and gradually become a useful theoretical tool after it has been introduced into China for 20 years. Studying Chinese contemporary popular culture from the feminism perspective is a relatively novel thought. The gender construction doctrine pointed out that sex was constructed, and gender concepts emphasized the role that social culture played in constructing gender. This paper, from a gender perspective, analyses the relationship between the and gender construction. With the developing of Chinese contemporary popular culture, the gender landscape constructed by it will change, too.The second part is a study of the social gender landscapes in the contemporary popular culture vision, by using gender construction in media forms like TV advertisements, film and TV series, and mass draft as the research object. Based on the contemporary popular culture's inheritance and innovation, the social gender landscapes under the influence of popular culture present two sides: one inherits the inflexible social gender role shaped by the traditional patriarchal culture; the other subverts the traditional culture, constructing gender concept in an independent, free and multiple sexual role way, and gender construction presents the trend of developing diversely and independently.The third part analyzes the social gender landscape constructed by Chinese contemporary popular culture, on the basis of "the double sex harmony" concept advocated by feminist recently, and the rapidly awakening of China's social gender consciousness in the new period. This part also summarizes the positive and negative effects of Chinese contemporary popular culture when constructing the male and female reciprocal social gender which was advocated by the feminist in the new period. Thus the audience will form a reasonable and fair understanding of Chinese contemporary popular culture. And this paper also tries to conduct the future developing direction of popular culture.The conclusion part points out that we should form a reasonable and fair understanding of Chinese contemporary popular culture after realizing the pros and cons it has played in constructing social gender sexes reciprocal. We must give the popular culture powerful and correct guidance in order to maximize favorable factors and minimize unfavorable ones. And taking advantage of the penetrating and influential modern mass media, we should play up the positive influence of Chinese contemporary popular culture and play down its negative influences. In that way it will do help in shaping and forming gender reciprocal, bisexual harmonious public opinions, awakening the public's gender consciousness, and promoting aim of gender equality and bisexual of harmonious society to come true early.
