Imperial examination system was established in the Sui Dynasty, fully shaped in Tang Dynasty, and it made progress in Song Dynasty, declined in Yuan Dynasty, reached its peak in Ming Dynasty, and was abolished in the end of Qing Dynasty.Imperial Examination of Hainan started in Tang Dynasty, because culture and education of Hainan had begun to rise in Tang Dynasty. Imperial Examination of Hainan developed a lot in Song Dynasty, but there are many errors in the present old records. According to the research, jinshi of the Song Dynasty of Hainan in 15 people,at least 585 juren,2 zhike,42 zhuke.imperial examination of Hainan declined for many reasons in Yuan Dynasty, zero scholars, only 2 juren. However, more various zhuke, with 81 people. Imperial Examination of Hainan reached its peak in Ming Dynasty with 64 jinshi, 597 juren, 64 jianju,2435 gongsheng,16 wuke, and imperial examination celebrities like Qiujun and Hairui also appeared in this period. Although imperial examination of Hainan is far worse in Qing Dynasty than in Ming Dynasty, yet there were still 31 jinshi, 234 juren, 1994 gongsheng,88 wuke,and the third overall Zhang Yuesong also appeared in this period.Imperial examination system had very comprehensive and positive impact on the ancient society of Hainan, including education, talents, customs, works, antiques, official, the quality of population, scholarly family, and connection with inland, enhancement of Han culture and so on. The main reasons why the ancient imperial examination system in Hainan has a broad impact on the ancient society are that Hainan had been an important part of China since ancient times; The central plains dynasties had been ruling and governing the island directly for long time, and implementing the same policies with the inland; additionally, imperial examination system focused on principles such as equality, fairness, balance. All of these reasons are extremely valuable opportunities for Hainan located in frontier. So, imperial examination system became a strong force in the social development of Hainan, promoted the overall development in Hainan society, and constantly enriched the content ancient civilization of Haina.
