In his dispute life, Lawrence remains loyal to the nature of life, and uses his steady voice inform this degenerate society to keep the instinct and do not move the life into degeneration. In modern society, the tendency from desire to organ lust and the disciplinary ideals degenerate people from the instinctive, independent living to a existence of materialization and mechanization. The disordered nature and the persecuted humanity become the background of industrial era. However, when put the background into micro-analysis, it turns that no matter man or woman who under the system of power, has totally constrained and tamed and ultimately become the disciplinary prisoners. It would have a meaningful effect on analyzing Lawrence by using Foucault's concepts of the net of power and aesthetics of existence. Foucault regards that the central system of modern society is the net of power and from which produce the power of discipline, this kind of discipline effects every one and turns a tendency of materialization and mechanization. Lawrence resembles his ideas in disciplinary society, and try to search a way to existence and the resurrection of human nature. Self-creation is central to the content of Foucault's aesthetics of existence, similarly, during his lifelong writing, Lawrence constantly appeal to the true nature of human being. The thesis applies texts analysis and a Foucauldian study of the possibility from the disciplinary prisoner to the resurrected manThe introduction, after doing literature review about Lawrence's novels and Michel Foucault's philosophy about power and discipline, put forward the significance of doing this thesis. The chapters of this thesis can be divided into two general group.chapter two looks at the three novels and focuses on the constrained power of the human Nature, which is demonstrated by various disciplines, including disciplinary mechanisms, docile bodies and the established orders.Chapter three looks at the three novels and considers the way from the disciplinary prisoner to the resurrected man. Based on those theories, this chapter focuses on Lawrence's concept of natural law and his rejection of the disciplinary laws represent by three ways, and he clearly demonstrates the possibility to resurrection of human nature. The three strategies are:self-extrication, self-realization and self-reborn..There is a terse conclusion about this thesis, mainly emphasizing Lawrence's attitude towards power and liberty, and the ideas he shares with Foucault.
