Study On The Novels Of Crescent Genre

In the history of literature, Crescent Genre was generally considered as a poetic genre, and was even called as "New Moon Verse School". Based on the origin of the name "Crescent Genre", its historical activities, characteristics and other aspects, although Crescent Genre is famous for the poems, actually it is not simply a poetic genre, In addition to their poetry, they also have their own pursuit for ideals and achievements in the other domain.This paper places Crescent Genre as an open and comprehensive article groups. The novels'writing is an important part of the whole activities as well. On the one hand, the paper concentrates on novels'writing; on the other hand the related poems are introduced, and cultural phenomenon at that time is taken care of. The objective is to sketch out overall characteristics of the novels of Crescent Genre, so that we can observe its gains and losses, and finally enrich our understanding of Crescent Genre.This paper argues that Crescent Genre writers have certain common trends, showing the common concept of art and pursuit of aesthetic judgment. They were trying to express beauties in their best. However, the articles are lack of substantial contents in the form of the persistent pursuit of beauty. The imbalance weakens the novels' artistic value. Meanwhile, the narrow choice of subject matters'scope brings down the acceptance level in general readers, which limits the development of the novels. This is the main reason why the Crescent Genre novels do not make great achievements.
