Doris May Lessing, the winner of 2007 Nobel Prize in Literature, describeds women's polotical life and personal relationship in series of her works on the subject of women. However, she also clearly argues against radical perspectives of some feminists which isolates women by adevocating the opposition between women and men, between women and the tradional society. The female protagonists in Lessing's novels, who are bounded in kinds of patriarchal rules and trapped in multiple dilemmas both physically and psychologically, hope for a reconstruction of the female self in order to gain freedom and get rid of their dilemmas. In the works of The Golden Notebook, The Summer before the Dark, Martha Quset and The Proper Marriage, the author prescribes the way of free women and housewives how to break down the binary oppositions of the patriarchal culture ,get a new self-awareness and reconstruct a new female self, and finally go out of their dilemmas. With the theory of post-modern feminism and the geographics of identity, the essay focuses on the analysis of the multiple, fluid and balancing qualities of the new female self. The author believes that, Lessing showeds her special perspectives of women's liberation in her works. According to her view, the real freedom of women should base on their sex differences and live in harmony with men rather than struggle against them and the society.
