Teaching of English listening has been paid more and more attention, and it plays an important role in the process of Second Language Acquisition. Since the issue of the latest College English Curriculum Requirements in 2004 by the Education Ministry of China, the important role of the listening teaching and testing has been noticed by more and more people. Since 2008, the score of listening test has been added to the College Entrance Examination; The Ministry of Education has put forward a new policy in order to foster the students'ability of listening and speaking, the listening part in the CET 4 and CET 6 has been increased from 20% up to 35%, and this part will continue to be enhanced to 75% with the further education reform.The listening test can be influenced by many factors, and to improve the students'listening level is the aim and stress of English teaching."Listening"is the precondition for the basic way of language input and language learning. However, till now there lacks an effective teaching way to improve students'listening comprehension and to find a feasible and effective way is the urgent affair, to improve the ability of input comprehension must be step by step.Applying the input theory into the listening teaching has become one of the hot issues in the language teaching field. The aims of this paper are (1) to discuss the importance of teaching method based on the input theory; (2) to analyze the feasibility of the teaching method based on the comprehensible input theory in the current listening teaching atmosphere; (3) through the comparative test taken in the traditional teaching method and comprehensible teaching method, to analyze the advantages of comprehensible input teaching method in the aspect of improving learners'listening ability; (4) through the implication, to give some effective suggestion and advices focusing on the college English teaching based on the comprehensible input theory. According to the comprehensible input theory by Krashen, the writer made some questionnaires and interviews among the sophomores in Chengde Tourism Professional College; the students major in tourism management, and the purpose is to find the influencing factors of listening comprehension, in order to do the test further, to minimize the influencing factors in the controlled scale and to get the reliable data. Using the traditional teaching methods and teaching way based on the comprehensible input theory to take tests in the controlled class and experiment class. The horizontal comparison and vertical comparison are employed in the study in order to find the desirable teaching method.Through the combination of the qualitative and quantitative analysis, the research results show that the teaching method combined with the comprehensible input can bring the better teaching effect. Therefore, it is of great importance for teachers to conduct the listening class based on the comprehensible input. And the realization of comprehensible input can improve the learners'listening competence to a large extent.The present study has theoretical and practical significance. Theoretically, it can enrich future study of comprehensible input into second language acquisition, practically, it can promote college English teaching innovation in accordance with the latest College English Curriculum Requirements issued by the Educational Ministry of China; and provide a feasible and effective teaching way in Second language teaching.
