RyōtarōShiba was born in Osaka in 1923.His real name is Teiichi Fukuda. He was a Japanese author best known for his novels about historical events in Japan and on the Northeast Asian sub-continent, as well as his historical and cultural essays pertaining to Japan and its relationship to the rest of the world. He specialized in creating his works and left many masterpieces and awards. Many of Japanese civil servant, university lecturers, staff and politicians are very fond of RyōtarōShiba's works. His most monumental works include , , and , all of which have spawned dramatizations, most notably Taiga dramas aired in hour-long segments over a full year on NHK television. Therefore, most works of Shiba became best-selling books and had an impact on many of Japanese people. He himself was called the"national writer".The research purpose of this paper is that, study the works of RyōtarōShiba, and refer to the publication of China and Japan to understand the discussion about China of Shiba. Use the theory and methods of hermeneutics to analysis his position and views about China, it is clarified connotation and properties of RyōtarōShiba's view about China.This paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction part, introduces the study of this topic, purpose, significance, research on RyōtarōShiba and this paper's research methods. The second part investigates the works of RyōtarōShiba's and analyzes his Chinese history view and then discusses his view. This part is composed of three sections. The first is the food problem in Chinese history. The second is Shiba's view of war between China and Japan. The third is Shiba's vision of China in 1975. The third part investigates the works of RyōtarōShiba's and analyzes his Chinese culture view and then discusses his view. This part is composed of two sections. The first is Shiba's view of the Confucian and Zhuzi. The second is his view of the Western Regions. The fourth part investigates the works of RyōtarōShiba's and analyzes his Taiwan view and then discusses his view. The last part summarizes this paper. Shiba's historical novels covered many areas but this paper only analysis his view of China. So as a future topic, I will continue to analyze Shiba's works.
