By applying the Three-dimensional Grammatical Therory, this the-sis centers on the survey of those dynamic verbs which entail static se-meme. It generalizes the verbs' semantic features as [+Put] [+Aher-ent]. Since the lexical meaning of a verb entails static sememe, thismakes it possible for a verb to form both dynamic and static sentences. The author attributes the opposite of dynamics and statics to the differ-ences of context and other elements related to a verb, and holds that averb's lexical meaning determines which kinds of situation can the sen-tence represent, and the context and other co-occurring elements finallydetermine which situation type the sentence belongs to. The authormakes a minute survey in this thesis during which high attention has beenpaid to the function of aspect marks in representing the situation type of asentence, maticulous analysis has been made to the differences of prag-matic functions about those different sentence patterns of the same objec-tive context, special attention has been given to the distinction of high-level semantic relations and low-level semantic relations, and reaches theconclusion that the same thing represents different sematic identities indynamic sentences and static ones. This thesis consists of four sections: Section â… . The static situationand the dynamic situation, centering on the distinction between the staticsituation and the dynamic situation, the relation between verbs and situ-ation types and the verbs' semantic features; Section â…¡. The verbsforming dynamic sentences, centering on the various patterns of dynamicsentences and the elements helping the verbs to form dynamic sentences;Section â…¢. The verbs forming static sentences, centering on the kinds ofpatterns of static sentences, the elements helping the verbs to form staticsentences, the differences of pragmatic functions about those differentstatic sentence patterns and the relation between aspect marks and situ-ation types of sentences; Sectionâ…£.
