The relation of subject and object runs through Wen Xin Diao Long's discuss of creation,appreciation and stylistics. Among the study of Wen Xin Diao Long for about 1500 years, national and international scholars have paid great attention to this relation. Their studies have mainly concentrated on the theory of merging heart with object, but neglected to keep an adequate aesthetic distance, that is psychical distance. At the same time, they couldn't furthur probe into the relation of different literary styles and appreciators, as well as the relation of Liu Xie and the outside world, etc. So this paper, borrowing literary psychology's theory and method such as psychical distance, re-study the relation and its theoretical value in Wen Xin Diao Long from literary psychology's angle. The study is carried out on three aspects. They are Shensi (creation), Zhiyin (appreciation) and Wendao (literary history and literary nature).The relation of heart and object hi Shensi calls for keeping psychical distance for intercourse. A psyhical distance which is neither close nor distant is necessary for the creation subject's heart to penetrate through the object into its core. It's also necessary for promoting the intercourse between feeling and object, heart and object. The free and flowing merging in adequate psychical distance shows a fluent and graceful beauty of dynamic. Moreover, by using some metaphor methods such as similie to link the two sides of psyhical distance, as well as sight changing, exceeding and limiting, psyhical distance is perfectly achieved.The relation of heart and object in Zhiyin is heart's awakening by object and heart's expection of object. Before object's inspiration who can remain indiffemt, as a piece of work has a great power of influence upon its readers. Those who has a deep insight must be moved while appreciating the work. On one hand, readers gained aesthetic joy. On the other hand, readers comprehensively judged literary works. In doing so can readers and works become bosom friend to each other. This is actually the highest degree of appreciating activities.The relation of heart and object in Wendao is the meditation on the past while inheriting and reforming. It's also synthesizing Confucianism and Taoism while seeking principles of the cosmos. As a master of literary history, Liu Xie's study of literary history's development (whole) is a dynamic study of literary works (individual) in Zhiyin. Liu Xie's heart as the subject contained the heart of Wendao, individual and creation. His Taoism contained Confucianism mainly because his Wenxin is a mixture of Taoism and Confucianism. This in turn proved that the relation in Shensi is the creation subject's stroll through the world of utilitarianism and ultra-utilitarianism.Ovemewing the world of heart and object in Wen Xin Diao Long, heart and object, the subject of creation and appreciation enjoyed literature under the moon light on Ae stage. Liu Xie was wild with joy in his world of Taoism and Confucianism. At the tune, the distance of time, space and psychology endowed heart and object with exquisite agility, bright life and eternal charm.
