Yan Fu's translation principle of faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance conducting Chinese literal translation for more than half a century is, to a great extent, not wholly suitable for the business translation. Business translation focuses on scientific aspect, without totally neglecting the artistic aspect. The scientific feature of business translation relies on a unique series of objective rules and principles of rendering presented to let the translators conform with, in order to make an English version completely acceptable to those English-speaking locals or successful version for those Chinese readers during E-C business translation. Based on the mastering of commercial knowledge and the proficiency in the linguistic features of Business English, a translator might make a professional business version with reference to the consideration of different culture background of readers.Pragmatics is the study of the relations between language and context that are basic to an account of language understanding. The element issues of pragmatics comprises deixis, the cooperative principle, politeness and cross-cultural communication. The core of pragmatics relies on meaning and context.This thesis tries to put forward to a new method to do the business translation with reference to the pragmatic approaches and stresses the role of context in correct understanding of what the original means.
