Han Wei and Six Dynasties was a historical period full of changes which took place both in the fields of economies and politics and in the areas of ideology and culture. The literature in particular woke from its unenlighted conditions and realized its existence and then developed itself, that is, from the period of "culture, history and philosophy being one" to "the times of the literature's awakening " that Lu Xun named. The articles written before one died, a special phenomenon in literature of that period, contributed a lot to the prosperity of literature ."when a person is dying, his words will be mild" , the articles written before one died possess the uncomparable trustworthiness in its contents and with the disreplacable cultural value and artistic charm, thus the research value and meanings are great enough for us to study it. This paper tries to arrange this cultural phenomenon in the current conditions of its blank research background, therefore I hope to contribute my little share to the literature research of this period. In a strict sense, the articles written before one died were not "literature creation", but for the tender feelings of death - bed injunction. Therefore most of these articles are casual and brief, which brings much inconvenience to our research. This paper mainly deals with the general research and is assisted by concrete examples, with the emphasis focusing on its analysts and arrangements meanwhile I try to care about the specialties of every period and every example. By combining them together to enable the people a general systematic idea. Life is precious because it belongs to a person only for once, one can't buy it, and neither can one relive it. So when a person is dying, his heart will be full of mixed feelings, It's the same as "sadness would come after extreme happiness" in order to relieve the fear of death, the theory of the natural evapotranspiration of Taoism, the soul theory of ancient China and God-decided theory of the Confucianism take a great part in this kind of articles. The first part of this paperanalyses and comments on this point. Besides the fear towards death, the feelings of people who were dying are quite different. But most of them are about these things including the worry and love for the family and the offspring's, the hope of the country's prosperity and the agony of dissaster, the regret of the disappearing of the body and soul, the pursuit of immortal soul and the sorrow of not being able to contribute to the country and the sudden awake of the meaning of one's own life. The second part gives a more detailed analysis. While the third section takes style as the categorizing standard. It presents the artistic characteristics separately. If we consider those articles as a whole, either the unadorned passages or the flowery passages possess the strong emotional strength as the reason of their success. It's certain that these three kinds of articles carry different features because of the identity, character and level of knowledge as well as the writing objects and different styles. The fourth part of this paper emphasizes on the cultural value of the articles written before one died in this period from the perspective culture, it may be helpful to the research on the customs and the changes in people's thoughts. To sum up, all the investigation made in this article are based on the mental principle of respecting, approaching the true historical facts and applying these things to our modern life. I do this in order to contribute my little share to the vast fields of research in the literature of that period.
