| Yu Yue , Sun Yirang and Yu Chang are famous scholars in the late Qing dynasty. All of them made special research on SuWen, an ancient medical classic. In order to make people pay more attention to their achievement and study their method easily, their research is discussed in this essay in three aspects. Firstly, the background of their research. Their research is closely related to the political and cultural policy made by Qing government and to the consequent research style. Secondly, the details and the methods of their research. Based on the achievement of the former scholars in Qianlong and Jiaqing years, the explanation of words was explored, the punctuations were replaced, and the errors of words were corrected from different ways. In this essay, the results of their research are analyzed from the viewpoint of the combination of writing and medical regulations. Thirdly, the influence of their research. In TCM field, their research has answered a lot of doubtful questions and opened a new way for the studies of the ancient medical classics with the method of literature. Moreover, it has broadened the scope of the interpretation of ancient text. Its success and failure has put forward a new demand for the study of medical classics, i.e., scholars should have a good mastery of medical knowledge and should base their interpretation on medical laws.
